Last month, Facebook started to roll out a new layout for Facebook Pages. The new layout can be viewed via the desktop version of the site and has a new array of features, including customisable sections, templates, tab options and unique URLs for individual tabs.
So while the change isn’t dramatic, it will soon become clear to users how the new features can make a difference to their overall experience. Here’s what you need to know about each one!
Customisable Sections
You can now customise the sections you want to appear on your page. Rather than having the visitor see your most recent posts straight away, you can choose to have your videos, photos, events or anything else placed at the top of your page. That way, the content you choose is clearly promoted.
Templates for Businesses
If you head on over to ‘settings’ and then ‘edit page’, you’ll noted a new section called Templates. By default, your current template will be set to ‘Standard’, however, you can play with a variety of new options.
These will give your business page a new look and feel, depending on the template you’ve picked out. The more customisability you use, the more your page will reflect you and your brand.
However, if you prefer the old layout, you’re welcome to arrange your page that way too.
Updated Tab Options
By visiting the same settings page, you can choose to edit the order and settings of tabs on your page. Again, this provides much more customisability and lets you feature whatever you want in your tabs – in the order you choose to promote them.
Unique Tab URLs
Why would you need a unique URL for a tab? Actually, there are lots of reasons! Here are just a few that we’ve noted:
And probably lots more too!
How do I get the new layout?
If you want to give the new layout a try, it’s easy. If you’re a Business Manager user, simply head over to ‘settings’ and click on ‘edit page’. However, it’s important to note that Facebook has not yet rolled out the new layout to all regions, so don’t panic if you don’t see it yet – it will certainly be coming soon!
