Mohnish Jain | 28 JUL 2017

As a business, selling your product or services is, of course, your number one goal. And of course, social media is one way to help you achieve that, providing you optimise and improve your Facebook page to make the most of your products and encourage product sales.

Here’s how you can make a few simple changes to set your page on the right track.

Make sure your Facebook page is defined by the correct category.

You should start by ensuring your Facebook page is defined by the correct type and category. This may have an effect on the way your page looks, allowing it to properly suit the type of business you’re running. For example, if you select the ‘Shopping’ template, your page will be preset to showcase products and encourage sales.

To check this, simply go to ‘Settings’, then ‘Edit Page’, where you’ll be able to choose from Services, Shopping, Business, Politicians, Venues, Nonprofits, and Restaurants and Cafes as your category.

Make the most of the calls to action.

Don’t underestimate the power of a good CTA. On Facebook, you can include a call to action in the form of a button which will be featured on your page next to the ‘Message’ button.
You are free to customise this button however you like, allowing Facebook users to ‘Book Services’, ‘Shop Now’, or ‘Get in Touch’.

Sell your products directly through your page.

Did you know that you could sell your products directly through your Facebook page? Simply click on the ‘Shop’ tab of your page, and you’ll be able to create your storefront on Facebook Shop.

You’ll need to agree to the Facebook Merchant Terms and Policies before getting started.
Then, you’ll be prompted to select a checkout method.

Your customers can either check out on Facebook or be transported to your website to complete the transaction.
Finally, describe your store and upload your products – then you’ll be ready to start selling!

Remember to tag your products in the photos you post.

If you’re posting photos of your products on your Facebook page, remember to tag them so that users who are interested can simply click through and make a purchase.

When you upload a photo, you’ll notice the ‘Tag Products’ button. You can tag the products in your Facebook store, or on your own website.

Allow customers to review your business via Facebook.

Many online shoppers feel more comfortable buying a product when they can see that the shop has other satisfied customers.

By allowing reviews, you’ll be able to enjoy the benefits of positive testimonials, including more future sales.

These few simple ideas can go a long way when it comes to promoting and selling your products or services. Plus, they won’t cost you anything to implement – so there’s no reason not to give them a try.

Consider testing them out yourself and let us know how you got on, we’d love to hear about the improvements you’ve made to your page so remember to check back and share your story in the comments!
